Summer and fall registration
Registration for summer and fall classes at WCC begins this month —either on-line or through a counselor.
Continuing students can register on-line April 13 – 21 at http://myuhportal.hawaii.edu using the “time ticketing” priority system. The date for registration is based on the number of of credits they have already accumulated.
Students who want to register through a WCC counselor can start calling for appointments on or after Wednesday, April 14 at 235-7413 or they can come to Hale ‘Akoakoa, Room 203.
Continuing students will be scheduled to see counselors from April 21 through July 30. New and returning students will have appointments May 3 through Aug. 13. Groups registration will be held on Aug. 18 for anyone who still needs to register. “We encourage students to see a counselor if they need advice on planning their schedule,” said WCC counselor Charles Whitten. “They can help you make the most of your time and money.”
This year WCC is offering two summer sessions, each consisting of six weeks. The first session runs from May 24 to July 2. The second session runs from July 6 to Aug. 13.
A midterm session of eight weeks includes courses in statistics, photography and developmental English.
The schedule covers a wide range of high-demand courses in areas such as English, Spanish, history, economics, math, psychology, speech, philosophy, art, computer science, and botany.
For the first time, WCC is offering zoology courses in human anatomy and physiology required for nursing students.
Also available are two special offerings in the arts: a team-taught introduction to Hawaiian music and the Windward Atelier, a six-week art immersion experience. Because summer session courses are self-supporting, a higher tuition is charged. The rates are $105 per credit for residents and $138 per credit for non-residents.
For more details, call 235-7413 or see the listing of courses on WCC’s web site at www.wcc.hawaii.edu or course schedules and fliers available on campus. |
